plath- device’s

One of the languge device used is apostrophe, in poetry this menas talking to someone who is not there. in the poem this is shown in the last line of the poem where plath say “Daddy, Daddy you Ba****d im through” this suggests she has had hartred towards her father and has finally let it out. plath also uses methorphores when she says “a bag full of god” this suggests when she was a little girl he was the centre of her world.

    I think you might mean something other than apostrophe.

    The point you’re making about how Plath is literally talking to her father is a good one, though – so definitely pursue that.

    I like the reference to the metaphor and your interpretation of what it means. This is exactly what I mean when I talk about investigating the poet’s use of language.
